Attrition System
Liner Notes:We never planned this album. Because all of our music is totally improvised the tapes of our rehearsal sessions consist of entirely new music. When Neu Harmony suggested releasing extracts from the late 1995 sessions, we agreed readily. A number of people have contacted us asking to hear the rehearsal tapes, and while we can only scratch at the surface, this might satisfy them. We also wanted to show the live improvisation that is the core of AirSculpture. Hopefully our next live album will have an audience present! We have tried to choose the best material for this disc. Sometimes mistakes precluded something we would have otherwise have loved to release. In other cases we have allowed minor flaws through, because we didn't want to discard the whole piece. We hope that you will understand our choices, and the rough edges present in a few places. A 45 minute version of Counterglow/Gegenschein was broadcast on BBC Radio Derby Soundscapes. An extended version of Malebranche appeared on the Sequences 15 compilation CD. Cover photo by Andy Dobbs of Turnstone Images (0)1765 692055 Band portraits by Brendan O'Donnell.
